Must Haves:

  • At least 2 years of experience.
  • Loves working with UX/UI designers to code delightful experiences for our customers.
  • Looks at writing bad code as a personal insult.
  • Belief that our code and development processes can always be better.
  • Proficient with WordPress and experience developing custom WordPress sites.
  • Deep understanding of JS, HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Experience with MySQL as it relates to WordPress.
  • Expert knowledge of WordPress’s theme structure and functions.
  • Ability to integrate with APIs using various methods.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
  • Experience working with continuous delivery, automated deployments (CI/CD).
  • Experience managing and reviewing pull requests and code repositories.
  • Ability to be “scrappy” and pivot quickly.
  • Mindset for producing an MVP that can scale.


Nice to Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical work.
  • Expertise with back-end PHP programming language.
  • React or similar JS libraries or frameworks.
  • Experience with Bootstrap.
  • Experience with Less/Sass.
  • Knowledge of ADA compliance coding standards.
  • Ability to refine and innovate our DevOps methods.
  • Experience using Jira, Bitbucket and Pipelines.
  • Knowledge of automated code testing and methods and implementations.
  • Using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) for theme development
  • Shopify experience a plus

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coding pixel perfect user interfaces and interactions for websites and/or web applications from prototypes or high-fidelity mockups.
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Updating WordPress, Plugins, and related code libraries.
  • Create new CMS sections and page templates.
  • WordPress maintenance and support.
  • Manage DevOps processes for code testing, releases, deployments, and monitoring.
  • Deploy websites and microsites.
  • Coordinate with our tech department to manage testing and QA of sites.
  • Review and manage pull requests and code merges.
  • Oversee the use of WordPress plugins and plugin customization.
  • Resolve complex debugging, testing and code problems.
  • Yearly refactoring of websites.
  • Champions code standards.
  • Update online documentation (KB).
  • Provide support to other frontend developers for local tooling.
