WordPress Developer

Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and talented WordPress developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in WordPress and PHP as well as strong front-end development skills in HTML5, CSS3, SASS, and JavaScript.

What we’re looking for
We are looking for a self-starting, team player that is curious about modern web technologies. If you are a corporate programmer who wants to be told exactly what to do, this is not the job for you. We use our tech knowledge to work smart and efficiently to help our clients be successful while also helping our team grow and learn.

What you will need
You will need to be fun and easygoing, but driven and willing to go the extra mile on a job. You will also need the following skills to be successful:

  • Experience building WordPress sites from scratch, as well as using theme builders
  • Strong communication skills to work with a variety of clients and internal teams
  • The ability to write semantic HTML markup and organized SCSS/CSS
  • The ability to use Git for version control
  • Strong attention to detail, design sense and passion for best practices
  • Comfortable with full-stack development, including front-end templates, JavaScript
  • Familiarity with WordPress dev ops on Pantheon, WPEngine, or similar platforms is a plus
  • Experience integrating HubSpot, Salesforce and other third-party systems is a definite plus

What you will do
You will work collaboratively with our project managers, designers, strategists and other developers to create, implement, and maintain websites built in WordPress, Drupal, HubSpot, and other Content Management Systems. You’ll optimize and test across all major browsers on desktop and mobile devices, and implement third party services. Our developers also estimate and scope technical aspects of projects.

If you think you’ll fit in here, great. But we don’t just want you to fit in, we want you to expand our capabilities and our thinking. We want you to come to the table with a different way to get the job done, or a new technology that you may not know but will figure out overnight, or a programming solution that might not have occurred to us.

Your previous experience and education are great, and we’d like to know about all of it, but it’s not everything to us. Prove that you’re a fun person with an incredible skill set as described above and the job is (probably) yours.

This is a full-time position with lots of perks:

  • Flexible hours, so you can put the kids on the bus or just catch some extra Zs.
  • Remote work capability to allow you to work from wherever you want.
  • Stocked kitchen at the office to keep you fueled all day (or night) long.
  • Cornhole, a pool table, darts and beer—these are a few of our favorite things.
  • Medical and dental insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, and other important things adults like.

This position is a full-time position based in our office in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. (Remote work is allowed but you must be able to commute to that office regularly.)
