Senior Frontend Engineer (Remote)

We are looking for the right person to join our engineering team who will support XWP’s mission of building a better web at enterprise scale by delivering exceptional software and great client experiences, within a supportive and growth-oriented environment.

What You’ve Done
  • Strong experience building pixel-perfect pages that match provided UI designs

  • You’ve have significant experience writing accessible and semantic HTML5

  • Used scalable and maintainable CSS architectures (OOCSS, SMACSS, BEM, Inverted Triangle CSS), and have working experience with preprocessors

  • You have very good knowledge of writing Vanilla ES2015+ JavaScript and understand modern JS design patterns

  • Understanding of the front-end performance optimization techniques for improving web vitals

  • Good programming skills and knowledge of general principles (DRY, KISS, code refactoring and optimization, etc.)

  • You’ve had your hands deep in complex, large scale technical projects

  • You’re accustomed to PHP Programming and Object Oriented Programming principles

  • You’ve actively participated in mentoring and guiding less experienced developers to follow best practices through code reviews

  • You have a good knowledge of WordPress and can code themes from scratch

  • You've had hands-on experience in the Gutenberg editor


What You’ll Do Here

Be An Engaged Team Member

  • Work closely and collaboratively with others to develop solutions

  • Be a candid, respectful, and supportive teammate and leader

  • Participate in Backlog Grooming and tickets estimations, Sprint Planning, and Sprint Review Meetings

  • Adhere to Agile SCRUM Methodologies and organizational processes

Champion Engineering Best Practices

  • Conduct architectural peer reviews for code created by other engineers

  • Contribute to internal processes for writing well-organized, performant and easy to maintain front-end code

  • Create quick prototypes and influence front-end strategy for new builds

Write Secure, Performant, and Scalable Code

  • Mobile-first responsive interface development

  • Write modern ES2015+ JavaScript coupled with high-performing design patterns like code splitting and dynamic imports, using build tools like Webpack.

  • Debugging across a wide range of browsers and devices

  • Improve web vitals

  • Extend existing codebases while maintaining the front-end architectural choices

  • Develop custom WordPress themes for enterprise-scale sites

  • Build custom Gutenberg blocks

  • Implement structured data and microformats

  • An expected salary range of USD $75,000 to $110,000 or contractor rates of $40-$60 per hour ($6,000 - $9,500/month)
