The photo editor for SKI is responsible for acquiring or capturing all photography for SKI and its channels including magazine, website, social, TV, and for promotional needs. This includes editorial planning, commissioning photography, cataloguing stock submissions, photographing product and travel content, and managing the art budget.
Responsibilities:

  • Work cross-functionally with edit team to plan, direct and produce SKI magazine and related media properties
  • Acquire, edit, and catalogue stills from photographers’ submissions, stock photography and manage cover photoshoots
  • Conduct photo research for department and feature stories
  • Manage photographer assignments and coordinate logistic assistance, as needed, including any travel, accommodations, permitting, and talent
  • Stay informed of the latest product releases and industry trends
  • Manage budget, invoices, and contracts
  • Work with production to ensure color correction, print formatting and any additional edits are completed by print production deadlines
  • Archive all printed publications, ensuring all files are coded and linked
  • Produce high-quality studio photography for gear coverage, which entails conceptualizing and constructing sets, organizing samples, styling products, and generating lighting setups
  • Photograph editorial content in a variety of genres, including technical instruction, event documentary, fashion, and travel
  • Process, color-correct, and re-touch all in-house shoots
  • Contribute to editorial and event planning, as needed
  • Ensure that the photo studio is clean, organized, and that all studio gear and supplies are maintained and in working order

Qualifications:

  • Experienced photographer, specializing in studio and adventure photography
  • 3-5 years of photo editing experience with an eye for trends
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign. WordPress and digital asset management experience preferred
  • Organized, detail oriented, multi-tasker, self-motivated, problem solver and team player
  • Expert skier preferred

Entirely remote jobs that could be performed in Colorado: Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $40,000 to $55,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission. Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, Flexible Time Away, sick leave, and more. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors
