- Plans for and performs work on backend and frontend WordPress programming projects, including those that are highly complex in nature and/or large in scale.
- Writes code and performs testing to ensure that websites are accessible and comply with state and federal laws.
- Collaborates on and manages website content updates.
- Uses a dev/test environment before deploying changes to production.
- Coordinates and/or develops diagrams, flowcharts, and other documentation to represent operations and data flow for WordPress architecture and plugin implementation.
- Coordinates and/or performs the research and the analysis required for project proposals, software and systems modifications, and project approach.
- Collaborates on writing instructions or manuals for end users.
- Analyzes proposed plugins for requirements and capabilities.
- Provides technical assistance in matters related to WordPress programming and styling.
- Collaborates with others and performs related work as assigned.
- Attends work regularly in accordance with TSBVI leave policy and procedure.
- Complies with all agency policies, procedures and handbooks.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Demonstrable experience in WordPress backend and frontend development.
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of WordPress programming and systems analysis; of CMS operations procedures and systems; and of web programming languages including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery
- Ability to process technical business information logically; to design programs and systems logic; to prepare program specifications; to code, test, and debug software
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer science, or a related field may be considered in lieu of extensive WordPress experience.
- Experience with WordPress multisite creation and management
- Experience with creating and editing WordPress themes and plugins
- Knowledge of code versioning tools including Git, Mercurial, and SVN
- Solid experience with website architecture and design concepts
