Job description

• Full stack development within the INFRAFRONTIER infor­matics infrastructure together with other members of the team


• Ensuring database and web appli­cation security, performance and service availability


• Expanding database schema and inter­faces to record research data from new ser­vices added to the INFRAFRONTIER portfolio


• Cloud deployment of INFRAFRONTIER soft­ware products


• Automated data exchange and inte­gration of biomedical ontologies with a focus on cross-species mapping


• Working together with inter­national collaborators

Your qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Bio­informatics, or a related dis­cipline and at least three years of work experience


• Firm knowledge of database develop­ment and database server management


• Firm knowledge of Java web pro­gramming technologies and frame­works (e.g. Spring, Hiber­nate, Vaadin, Apache Tomcat, JavaScript)


• Experience with web content manage­ment systems, ideally WordPress


• Knowledge of virtual machines, build auto­mation and scripting languages (e.g. Shellskript, Perl)


• Jenkins continuous inte­gration desirable


• Hands-on Linux (ideally Ubuntu) and vir­tual machine experience


• Apache Solr technology experience is a plus


• Cloud technology experience (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus


• Structured working style and ability to solve pro­blems effectively in a team and on your own


• Ability to work in an Agile / Scrum development process


• Strong communication skills (English) and willing­ness to work in an international team
