REMOTE Web Designer

Job Summary:


Amentum is currently seeking a REMOTE Web Designer to support an IT Managed Services program for the Department of Energy. The overall program includes a 500+ work force performing Enterprise IT support, Service Desk, and Telecommunications support across multiple facilities and locations, for classified and unclassified telecommunications and information technology (IT) systems for National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia (NTESS).


You would be working as part of an organization which provides web design and development services for Sandia. Organization considers the necessary content management and delivery vehicles needed to attain customer business goals, including web content and communication products. The Web Designer shall consult and support all aspects of web development, such as systems analysis and design, user interface and experience design, workflow support, programming, project leadership, and product user training and support.

Candidate can work remotely but will be expected to travel to site occasionally.

Tasks:
  • Design and construct web sites, web pages, web application user interfaces or web components, including graphics, animation and functionality, audio and video, page layout, navigation, user interface graphics, icons, and color schemes.
  • Designs, configures, or maintains internal and external websites, web application user interfaces, and web site components that support Sandia National Laboratories' image and identity using a diverse mix of web material, graphical user interfaces, multiscreen venues, two- and three-dimensional modeling, animation, video, and various multimedia.
  • Works with designers, programmers, writers and other creative specialists to create visually rich and effective web content that delivers a positive user experience and aligns with overall objectives and web standards.
  • Employee must live in the local area and will be expected to work onsite 20% of the time.
Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to be cleared at the TOP SECRET (TS) or DOE Q and the ability to maintain clearance throughout the life of the contract
  • Must have a High School Diploma / GED and 2 years of experience
  • HTML5/CSS3, PHP, JavaScript, and jQuery, and working with web content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Cascade Server) Web service usage is required
  • Basic understanding publication policies, practices, and procedures; and web design and development principles, theories, concepts, and techniques
  • Experience developing and maintaining web sites, web applications, or web site components
  • Ability to conceptualize elements of web site development or administration, including the delivery of clear and concise communications to appropriate audiences
  • Familiarity with streaming media concepts and techniques, including digital video and audio compression standards such as MP3, WAV, and MPEG
