WordPress Specialist

Objectives

We are looking for someone with 3 years or more WordPress experience, UX design and front-end development to join our growing company and help us reach our technology goals. Our WordPress Specialist will be responsible for creating new WordPress websites, implementing designs supplied in XD format on new and existing WordPress websites, creating and managing lead generation forms through Gravity Forms, updating content, keeping themes and plugins up to date and integrating with 3rd party vendors.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design, marketing, and project management, to understand and establish the goals and user requirements.
  • Build and implement front-end solutions inside of WordPress.
  • Work with the IT team to ID needs that cannot be met through WP and build custom solutions where necessary.
  • Work with Marketing to ensure tracking codes events and triggers are capturing data as needed
  • Participate in the end-to-end software development lifecycle.
  • Conceive, develop, test and present ideas that deliver the highest quality user experience in terms of innovation, simplicity and consistency.
  • Continually incorporate feedback to improve the UI/UX experience.
  • Ensure products meet high standards of usability and design excellence.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent through education/work) in a computational discipline: Computer Science, Web Development, Human-Computer Interaction, Mobile Computing, Graphic Design, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Highly skilled in web technologies (including WordPress, HTML, and CSS)
  • Resourceful in getting things done, self-starter, and productive working independently or collaboratively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment

Preferred Skills

  • Proven WordPress development experience with a strong portfolio and 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Familiarity with the following: LucidChart or similar, Adobe XD, WordPress, MySql, Plesk, CloudFlare, Vue.js, Veutify, Bitbucket or similar, Zoho, Google Analytics, Google Optimize
  • Experience with mobile technologies (both iOS and Android) and responsive, mobile first design
  • Experience with browser testing and cross-browser compatibility
  • Possesses a working knowledge of web standards, accessibility and best practices of web design and UI/UX design
  • Experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
  • Ability to learn quickly and contribute ideas that make the team, processes, and solutions better
