Senior Quality Assurance Analyst

What You’ll Do:

As a Senior QA Analyst at BuddyBoss, you will be working closely with our development teams to ensure the technical compatibility and viability for all our features and solutions before they are deployed. Our ideal candidate has strong technical skills, the ability to work on multiple features and enhancements simultaneously. Working in an Agile framework, the candidate will be responsible for validating the quality of our product to meet its optimum success criteria, user experience and seamless integration within our WordPress ecosystem. The successful candidate will be experienced in modern test methodologies and processes executed throughout the software development life cycle and this role will be fully accountable for developing and executing testing methodologies and test scripts within Jira / Atlassian platforms

With the support of QA Manager and Tech Leads, you will establish the project’s test strategy, define testing activities at each stage of the project, lead the testing team through manual and automation testing, establish a clear protocol for communication and monitoring, and be accountable to the robustness of the solution being built and delivered.

Your day will look like this:

• Create and manage testing strategy, estimates and test plans for delivery of multiple product features, enhancements and bugs 

• Review business requirements with the Product Owner and business users and clarify any ambiguity ensuring testing conditions are understood

• Develop and execute test cases within the agreed upon timelines ensuring the application is performing as expected

• Assess and escalate critical & high impact quality issues to the QA Manager and Tech Leads

• Review test deliverables, manage defects and document test results

• Participate in defect review meetings and provide analysis as required

• Assist in the validation of newly created testing environments in coordination with vendors and IT

• Troubleshoot and review logs/queues as required to analyze potential defects

• Assist QA Manager and Tech Leads in creating status and progress reports and testing metrics as required

• Follow prescribed change control procedures, making sure all changes are properly documented, approved and communicated

• Responsible for ensuring a product or service meets the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance required.

• Analyze product requirements to define acceptance criteria

• Design, create and maintain reusable test scripts

• Execute manual testing

• Participate as a testing resource when required and be an integral part of all releases

• Work closely with engineers to ensure timely resolution of issues

• Testing web, mobile (iOS and Android) applications

Here is what you should have to succeed in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or other Engineering courses preferred

• 5-7 years of experience in manual testing and working knowledge of automation testing

• Knowledgeable in WordPress development

• Experience testing in different testing platforms (web, mobile, etc)

• Knowledgeable in any defect management tools (Jira, Mantis, Redmine, etc)

• Experience in API testing, functional and non-functional testing

• Experience in using any test management tools

• Knowledge of testing concepts and QA methodologies

• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, QA applications and databases

• Good understanding of software testing life cycle

• Good knowledge with PHP, SQL, XML, HTML language

• Experience working with Git or other version control systems

• Exceptional problem-resolution skills including the ability to think creatively to test edge cases and user experience

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong written and verbal communication skills

• Strong attention to detail on every feature requirements and feature releases

• Comfortable with agile development cycles and tight schedules

• Passion for excellence at every level

• Knows how to multitask and handle multiple requests at once with effective prioritization
