Wordpress Developer

As a WordPress Developer you will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins. Knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS3 and Java Script with an understanding of visual design, user experience and user interface.

Our need is for an experienced and passionate WordPress Developer to join our Digital Marketing SolutionsTeam! As a WordPress Developer at The Walker Group, you will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development including creating WordPress themes and plugins.

Responsibilities.

  • Design and implement new features and functionality
  • Establish and guide the website’s architecture
  • Ensure high-performance and availability and manage all technical aspects of the CMS
  • Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.
  • This is a 24 hour per week opportunity

Qualifications.

  • 5 plus years agency WordPress development experience
  • A strong understanding of latest industry trends and content management systems
  • Writing efficient code
  • Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
  • Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
  • Comfortable working with debugging tools such as Firebug and chrome inspector
  • Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
  • Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wire frames into working HTML pages
  • Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools {{such as Git,SVN, and Mercurial}}
  • Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
  • Understanding of Trellis, Sage and Roots are a plus
