Wordpress Web Developer

We are seeking a WordPress Web Developer to join our growing team!

Position Overview

Community Brands is a growing company, and we are looking for a passionate and experienced WordPress Web Developer to join our fast-paced, in-house Brand & Creative team that supports the marketing efforts of our Association and Events brands. You will be responsible for both back-end and front-end web development providing programming and functionality for various websites, security updates, plugins, and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate is an expert at creating, maintaining, and optimizing WordPress websites, and is comfortable developing custom themes and applications using a responsive framework, while also leveraging and updating existing themes/builders.

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Brand & Creative, you will work with marketers, graphic designers, and developers to create new sites and enhance existing ones to meet business and technical requirements.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

A Day in the Life

  • Develop highly optimized WordPress websites and applications using responsive frameworks, CMS, HTML5, CSS3, PHP, and JavaScript
  • Implement and modify WordPress themes and plugins
  • Support, extend and enhance existing custom code
  • Design, develop and implement new features and content on existing and new WordPress websites
  • Document technical and functional specifications
  • Test and debug problems with the site and/or its integrations with the various 3rd party systems
  • Work closely with the marketing team (including project manager, demand gen marketer, copywriter and graphic designer) to develop clear project deliverables and timelines, and to ensure timely completion of deliverables
  • Perform routine site maintenance, keeping plugins up to date
  • Perform security updates as needed
  • Perform webmaster duties
  • Monitor site performance and fulfill onsite SEO duties as it relates to Core Vitals
  • Test code for cross-browser/platform compatibility and troubleshoot any technical issues
  • Remain up to date on web trends and standards

We Are Looking For Someone Who Brings

  • 5+ years of experience as a WordPress web developer,
  • Advanced experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP
  • Experience with SEO and conversion optimization best practices
  • Experience with responsive and adaptive design
  • Experience with Divi
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience on HubSpot a plus
  • Experience with Figma a plus
  • Experience with Asana a plus
  • Understanding of key design principles
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a can-do, positive attitude
  • Advanced problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, with little oversight
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with people clearly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional and fast-paced internal teams
