WordPress Developer - Contract

Neighborhoods.com is looking for an experienced frontend developer to join our agile team. This role will be building and maintaining our consumer-facing WordPress sites. We are seeking someone with a strong background in WordPress development and PHP.

This is a 1099 independent contractor role. We pay in $USD. This role and all interviews will be 100% remote. We prefer candidates who have at least a 4 hour time zone overlap with the US Central time zone.

About You:

You're an organized and motivated WordPress developer who can work well as part of a fast moving team. You are comfortable asking questions about requirements or deliverables when you don't have a clear understanding and you feel confident suggesting solutions that translate to saving time and writing better code.

Required Experience:

• 3+ years of frontend development (HTML, CSS, JS, AJAX)
• 2+ years of PHP experience
• 2+ years of WordPress experience
• Familiarity with SQL
• Understanding of Git
• Ability to identify and mitigate/escalate potential issues in a timely manner

Desired Experience:

• Deep understanding of wordpress best-practices
• Ability to develop solutions with regards to a "big-picture" approach
• Experience developing in an enterprise environment
• Comfortable in Jira, Confluence, Zoom, Google Suite
• Understanding of page speed / waterfall and ability to translate to code best-practices
• Basic understanding of DB architecture and how it relates to front-end rendering
