Senior Web Developer, Word Press

The University of Warwick is recruiting for a Senior Web Developers to join Warwick Employment Group (WEG). The role is perfect for a developer with a solid track record in WordPress and general website creation and maintenance.


Launched by the University of Warwick, Warwick Employment Group (WEG) is an integrated family of specialist recruitment and people-orientated services that have been supporting the Higher Education sector for over 16 years. Due to the group’s expansion, new opportunities have arisen for experienced developers to be part of a team developing our new portfolio of products and services.


The role is an excellent opportunity for someone with extensive Wordpress website development experience who brings a strong standards-driven approach to deliver complex new websites and systems. These websites will interface with various other systems and technologies so experience in Web Services, APIs, AWS, security, Pagely, session management, source control and other technologies would be of huge benefit.

Job Description


JOB PURPOSE


Bring extensive website development knowledge to drive the development of WEG’s portfolio of websites. Implement secure, fast and efficient code to deliver functional and non-functional requirements from WEG businesses.


This role will develop and maintain secure and efficient coding standards and have input on new technology selection, where opportunities to do so arise.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • To design and develop new websites as directed by management and from the WEG roadmap
  • Continual Improvement of systems and processes in place at WEG IT
  • Maintain user friendly websites and web applications, ensuring sites are accessible, secure, reliable, tested and fast
  • Contribute to developing new internal operating processes to improve working practices
  • Ensure consistent and accurate application of estimation methodologies to planned work
