Our ideal candidate

We are looking for an experienced and driven WordPress Developer to join our team. You will have a strong understanding of WordPress and its ecosystem, as well as a proven track record of working with design teams to create top-quality websites for clients.

You will be responsible for

  • Full WordPress website build, website support and maintenance, website updates, feature requests and upgrades and other PHP and JS development (including some non-WordPress websites).
  • Delivering high quality work on time and to budget
  • Liaising with clients and ensuring their satisfaction
  • Troubleshooting issues when they occur


Required Skills

  • A solid understanding of modern HTML & SCSS (Ideally utilising webpack)
  • A strong understanding of WordPress & PHP
  • Experience with the Javascript framework REACT
  • Git Versioning Control
  • Comfortable working with AJAX
  • Good working knowledge of Javascript


Desired Skills

  • Cloudflare/CDNs
  • WebGL and three.js
  • Experience implementing APIs (e.g. Google Maps/YouTube/Vimeo)
  • Server management (Plesk cPanel)
  • Basic understanding and application of SEO


Required Experience

  • WordPress: 3 years (required)
  • PHP: 2 years (required)
  • SEO: 1 year (desirable)
  • JavaScript: 3 years (required)

Salary

37.5 hours/week (excluding a lunch break) based in our office in Thames Tower, just next to Reading train station

£25,000 - £35,000 per year, depending on skill level and previous experience.


The interview process

Successful shortlisted candidates will be invited to take part in an online assessment which will involve code-based tasks e.g generalised problem solving / troubleshooting with skills required for the role (PHP, HTML, JS and CSS).


Conditional upon the online assessment performance, candidates will be invited to an interview in person at our offices - a great opportunity to get a feel for our company ethos and dynamic. For the right candidate we will however be flexible and offer online interviews if travel is not plausible.
