Job Brief

ATC is looking for an experienced and passionate WordPress Developer to join its IT team. The jobholder will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, and will be collaborating with designers,

strategists and SEO professionals to ensure the creation of high-quality, innovative and human-centered web experiences.

This position requires someone with strong programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and a passion for design and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on).

An ideal candidate will have a rich experience in responsive/adaptive design and posses a strong working knowledge of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment.

Mid-Level to Senior WordPress Developer

Job Responsibilities

• Partner with web developers, SEO experts, digital marketing agency, and teammates to translate data into recommendations to improve the user experience, while maintaining brand consistency throughout a website
• Understand human-computer interaction design (HCID) and its application to an institutional website
• Recommend architecture, functionality, and interface design according to usability best practices
• Provide wireframes, designs, and interactive mockups to bring the website to life.
• Convert mockups into web content using WordPress front-end coding, building reusable code for future use
• Optimize web pages for maximum speed and scalability
• Understand how to integrate and configure third-party tools, or recommend custom-built functionality, to enhance the web experience
• Leverage the multisite platform to create an efficient setup for approximately 10 web properties, such as the use of universal content blocks and dynamic content
• Engage in constant experimentation (A/B Testing) to constantly improve existing work.
• Apply SEO, ADA, and privacy law guidance to develop a site that is compliant and easy to navigate
• Develop structure to guide website development, including but not limited to: website style guide, layout templates, and clear differentiation between web pages, landing pages, cul-de-sacs (microsites within a website), and password-protected content

Requirements For Success In The Role

• Dynamic individual who on a daily basis demonstrates passion, heart, positivity, and teamwork
• Experience building websites and knowledge of contemporary trends in popular CMS platforms like WordPress
• Proficiency in front-end coding best practices and markup languages including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP.
• Understanding of ADA WCAG 2.0 guidelines
• Experience with graphic design applications such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Prefer experience with mobile-first responsive design
• Prefer understanding of SEO principles.
• Passion for carefully planning, and implementing, web content – both from a creative and technical viewpoint.
• Foster extensive collaborative relationships with stakeholders throughout the marketing and communications teams.
• 3+ years experience in front-end design and development (UI/UX)
• Prefer 2+ years experience in front-end development of WordPress website
• Prefer working knowledge of Salesforce integration into website
