Junior PHP/WordPress Developer

Capitol Tech Solutions is looking for an organized , detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Junior PHP/WordPress Developer.


As a Junior PHP/WordPress Developer, you’ll work closely with a team of talented digital professionals to plan and manage innovative projects for clients. And work on WordPress website development and implementation, focus on technical coding solutions, while applying best practices according to W3C and WCAG compliance.


Primary Responsibilities:


We are looking for a junior level PHP/WordPress developer with experience in accessibility and security to help maintain and enhance current client websites. In addition to development, this role will be responsible for bringing sites up to WCAG 2.1 AA standards as well as daily security checks/enhancements. Experience required in front-end and back-end development, WordPress, accessibility, security best practices.

  • Design accessible, responsive, aesthetic WordPress webpage UIs – ensures clients’ websites are accessible to the most people/devices to drive conversions
  • Assist in implementing WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines
  • Keep websites and plugins up-to-date and secure while delivering clients’ website

  • Monitor and maintain security best practices & performance standards
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient and reliable front-end and back-end code
  • Work with the lead developer and project coordinators to gather requirements and

propose solutions

  • Work with the support team to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues
  • Test to ensure security, stability, and performance
  • Test to ensure WCAG 2.1 AA compliance

Requirements


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, or B.S. in a Computer Science related field or equivalent work experience
  • Assist in implementing WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines
  • 3+ year experience working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • 2+ year experience working with PHP
  • Experience working with React and/or Angular but not required
  • Keep websites and plugins up-to-date and secure
  • Monitor and maintain security best practices
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient and reliable front-end and back-end code
  • Work with the lead developer and project coordinators to gather requirements and

propose solutions

  • Work with the support team to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues
  • Test to ensure security, stability, and performance
  • Test to ensure WCAG 2.1 AA compliance
