ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

At Neil Patel, marketing is about educating people through the best content while building awareness about how our products and services can satisfy their needs-this way we help them succeed while maximizing our company’s profits. We’re looking for a versatile WordPress Developer Contractor who is hungry to help us do this and more.

Our ideal candidate has experience with WordPress developing, optimization and security, testing and QA, create documentation, code martech integrations, and server-side maintenance on a fast-growing marketing team.

If that’s you, your responsibilities will include researching and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices related to WordPress development while helping to deliver marketing strategies for the Neil Patel brands, as well as helping maintain and optimize all websites and apps created in WordPress.

You will help NP brands in the US and international offices as well as Ubersuggest and Answer The Public teams that need support.

This includes having a broader knowledge of digital marketing technology, excellent interpersonal skills, and being able to work to strict deadlines. It also includes frequently receiving feedback and being able to make adaptations based on such feedback.

The WordPress Developer needs to have some experience optimizing processes and an understanding of SalesForce CRM.

It is also important that the candidate is an organized, detail-oriented person who is also data-driven, fast paced and willing to learn and teach.

Please note this is a Contractor position (30-40 hours per week) and fully remote. Opportunity for full time placement based on performance and business needs.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing ongoing support and maintenance for the company's websites
• Developing, testing, and deploying new features to the websites by using existing WordPress plugins or creating custom code
• Preparing reusable solutions that are optimized for performance and security
• Integrating websites with external services and applications
• Optimizing websites for loading speed
• Handling the backend of the websites, including a managed web server and domain’s DNS setup
• Collaborating with team members, including designers, developers, content creators, and managers to discuss project’s goals and strategies
• Researching and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices related to WordPress development
• Creating and maintaining SOPs for team members

ABOUT YOU

• 5+ years of experience in WordPress development
• Knowledge of WordPress development best practices and coding standards
• Experience in creating a WordPress website from scratch, including adding own code for custom post type/taxonomy, shortcodes, using transients and other methods of micro caching, using filters, actions and HTTP API
• Experience with WordPress localization and internationalization
• Experience with WordPress multisite networks
• Familiarity with performance optimization techniques for WordPress websites
• Good understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and jQuery
• Ability to test solutions across multiple browsers and platforms
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Proficient English speaker and writer

ABOUT THE COMPENSATION

• Hourly Pay Rate: USD $24-28 per hour, depending on experience and skills
