PHP & WordPress Software Engineer

Role Description:

You will work closely with our lead Senior Software Engineer, who is responsible for the overall software development of our two platforms, building and maintaining PHP-based web applications and contributing to the development of new projects.

• Visa Franchise is the leading advisor for identifying and analyzing businesses in the United States for the E2 investor visa.

You will join team building the fastest growing franchise and small business data platform in the United States, Vetted Biz., as well as one of the leading investor visa portals for the United States, Visa Franchise.

Our two websites attract over 200,000 organic visitors combined per month and growing, with a clear roadmap to increase organic traffic to over 500,000 by the end of 2023. You will be working with several other very capable departments to achieve this milestone.

Required Qualifications: 

• 5+ years of experience with full stack development skills
• Intermediate knowledge and development experience in PHP, Vue.js, SASS
• Experience working with WordPress

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent industry work experience
• Knowledge and development experience working with advanced custom fields, shortcuts, restful API, Jira & Confluence, AWS (EC2, RDS and S3)
• Knowledge of git integrations (CD&CI is a plus)
• Experience working in a remote and/or remote-first company

Responsibilities: 

• Working on front-end and back-end tasks
• Report your work on daily meetings and with the team
• Complete sprints tasks follow by order and importance
• Direct report to your project manager or lead developer
• Debugging and troubleshooting issues in existing applications
• Participating in code reviews and providing constructive feedback to peers
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation for projects
• Testing and debugging applications to ensure they meet requirements and standards

Location: Remote-first (work from home)
