Position Overview

TechnologyAdvice is looking to bring on a WordPress Developer to support our growing portfolio of websites. Our team supports the editors and writers of over 30 websites in the technology industry. We're working to build a streamlined platform for hosting and managing these websites to ensure they are reliable and high performing.

As a WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining these websites. You will work closely with our US-based team to build and develop our AWS-based hosting platform, migrate websites into WordPress, develop new themes and plugins, and bring new page templates to life.

What You'll Do

Operations

• Develop and maintain features in PHP and WordPress for our 50+ website portfolio
• Migrate existing websites into WordPress
• Contribute and be involved in all phases of the SDLC process.
• Write well designed, testable, efficient clean code and improve performance
• Prepare and produce releases of software components
• Collaborate with other team members to implement new features
• Develop custom themes and page templates using WordPress and Advanced Custom Fields

Administrative

• Support our content writers and editors in using WordPress to build pages
• Manage and respond to incoming support requests

Experience

Who you are

• 2-4+ years experience as Wordpress Developer
• 
  

Job Competencies

• Well-versed in HTML5, CSS and PHP
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and problem solving skills
• Experience in both frontend & backend: ideally someone with a good eye for design and styling
• Capable of communicating with others, especially in prioritizing and delivering features
• Understanding of SEO concepts preferred
• Other technologies include: AWS, Composer, Core Web Vitals, Docker, Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager, Gulp, Vue, Webpack
• Agile professional who excels in a fast-paced environment and thrives on continuously pivoting strategies to drive business needs forward
