Position : WordPress Developer (Custom Themes)

Salary Range : $1500-2500/Monthly

Working Schedule : Mondays to Fridays, 9AM to 6PM CST | 10PM to 7AM PH Time

We’re a two-person company that mainly works with other agencies we act as their complete web department. We produce our work pretty quickly while still maintaining a high level of quality. We’re looking for someone who can communicate well (even when delivering bad news) and can back up what they say they can do.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking to bring a full-time remote developer into our team to help us build custom WordPress themes and service our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Creating Custom WordPress Themes

The type of work we will be needing will mostly fall into two categories — Custom WordPress theme development as well as smaller one-off tasks to either fix something or add new functionality. Below is a list of the type of sites we might have you building:

• BC Media Productions
• Crooked Willow
• Landscape Express
• Mohawk Materials
• HC Sustainable

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO FEELS COMFORTABLE WITH THIS WAY OF BUILDING THEMES:

• Designs come as a PSD that needs to be built into a custom theme.
• All sites we build are responsive, but not built mobile first.
• We like to keep things clean and try not to rely on many plugins for functionality.
• All our sites use ACF. That is the only sort of “framework” that we adhere to.
• We always use Gravity Forms on our site and rely on WooCommerce for ecommerce functionality.
• We write our CSS using SCSS and do not use frameworks like Bootstrap or Tailwind.
• The customer experience (the person who manages the website) is important to us and like to make nearly every part of our site easily controllable by someone who has no code experience.
• We have a simple starting point and theme structure already established that we would like to have you use.
• For local development, we use Local for all our WordPress installs and use Code Kit for all our CSS and JS processing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 3-5 years (Mid-Senior Level) of experience in WordPress development (custom theme)
• Proficient in Photoshop
• Proficient in Figma
• Excellent to Above Average communication skills
• Fast learner
• Flexible
